Meet Our Board

Our Board of Directors consists of experienced and respected leaders in motorsports journalism who help guide SPMJ’s mission. They bring decades of combined experience to the organization, which ensures our members receive the support and recognition they deserve. Highlights include:



  • Paul Page (President): A legendary broadcaster with over 50 years of experience, including notable broadcasts of the Indy 500, CART, and NHRA.

  • Bob Gates (Vice President): A veteran journalist with more than 30 years of experience, including contributions to Open Wheel Magazine and Speed Sport.

  • Lee Klancher: Founder and CEO of Octane Press, with 30+ years in publishing and numerous award-winning books.

  • Michael Knight: An expert in PR and journalism, with over 80 awards and a long history of impactful feature writing.

  • Ralph Sheheen: Lead broadcaster for NASCAR Xfinity Series on NBCSN and co-owner of Speed Sport, with a rich background in motorsports coverage.

  • Terri Russo Freeman: Carrying on her father Bob Russo’s legacy, she has made a significant impact on motorsports media and event promotion.
