Last month's Motorsports Hall of Fame of America's annual black-tie induction ceremony, staged at the Hilton in Daytona Beach, gave Founding Director Michael Knight the opportunity to spread the word about SPMJ.

Knight attended in support of Carl A. Haas' posthumous induction in the Hall's open wheel category. Knight was the PR representative for Newman/Haas Racing or its primary sponsor for 11 years, including the CART championship seasons by Mario Andretti (who accepted the award), 1984; Michael Andretti, 1991; and Nigel Mansell, 1993.

One result which greatly adds to SPMJ's prestige: MSHF President George Levy has joined as a professional member. Some will recall Levy from his time as AutoWeek editor. More recently, Levy is an accomplished author of several well-respected motorsports books, including F1 Mavericks: The Men and Machines that Revolutionized Formula 1 Racing and Can-Am 50th Anniversary: Flat Out with North America's Greatest Race Series 1966-74. His latest is Texas Legend: Jim Hall and his Chaparrals, Hall's authorized biography.

Knight accepted Levy's invitation to become a MSHF voter. Meanwhile, Levy says he has several new book projects in the works. Welcome!
