The Society of Professional Motorsports Journalists (SPMJ), established in 2024 by Paul Page and Michael Knight, is a prestigious organization dedicated to supporting and representing professional motorsports journalists across all forms of media. Our mission is to unite journalists, foster industry relationships, and provide valuable resources for professional growth within the motorsports journalism community.

SPMJ was founded to uphold the tradition of recognizing and supporting motorsports journalists across all racing series. Inspired by the foundation laid by Bob Russo and Bill Marvel in 1955 for the American Automobile Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association (AARWBA), SPMJ is designed for today’s working journalists—offering resources, facilitating industry connections, and strengthening the profession. Members gain access to a network of peers, mentorship opportunities, and a platform to celebrate excellence in motorsports journalism.
