The Society of Professional Motorsports Journalists was established by a dedicated group of industry veterans committed to supporting and advancing motorsports journalism. Our founding board brings decades of experience across media, broadcasting, and racing coverage, shaping the foundation of SPMJ and its mission. Among them, Terri Russo Freeman continues the legacy of her father, Bob Russo, whose influential career helped shape motorsports media through his work founding the AARWBA, promoting major racing events, and advocating for journalists in the industry.
